ABOUT THE COMPANY
Boutique CPA office seeking a tax preparer/accountant for their office in Oakland. With over 40 years in business our client offers tax and full-service accounting, retirement planning, and financial consulting services to their clientele.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Prepare tax provisions schedules, returns, payments, reports and maintain a company’s tax database.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Find tax solutions to complicated tax issues or errors from incorrect tax fillings.
- Identify legal tax savings and recommend ways to improve profits.
- Make sure that clients comply with federal, state and local tax regulations.
- Advise management about the impact of tax liabilities and corporate strategies or new tax laws.
- Coordinate outsources tax preparation work.
- Accurately prepare quarterly and annual tax reports
- Keep up to date with tax changes and industry trends by participating in educational opportunities, participating in professional organizations, keeping up with professional networks and reading professional publications.
- At least 5 years recent experience preparing individual, trust, partnership and corporate tax returns.
- Proven ability to research complex tax issues and develop quality, practical tax planning.
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Strong computer skills (solid working knowledge of CCH ProSystem tax and QuickBooks
- CPA preferred, will consider EA.
